| WELCOME - City Scooter - Sydney, NSW - Sales, Scooters, Motocycles, Accessories, Service, Sachs, TGB, Peugeot |
|
CITYSCOOTER was established in 2004. Our goal was to make a customer focused scooter dealership that made a sometimes confusing purchasing choice easier. Since then we have built up a range of scooters based on feedback and requests from our customers. The brands we carry have been chosen due to their great value and back-up support from the manufacturers. All our scooters are fully automatic, with both electric and kick start. Our showroom here reflects our showroom at Cityscooter and is representative of the models we always have ready to go. We don’t carry all the 50cc models available from the manufacturers as these are more popular in the states where they can be driven with a car license. However, it is no trouble to order in any models from our manufactures range, as listed in the range lists. |

Many top European and Japanese manufacturers now out-source to Taiwanese manufacturers due to their reputation for superior manufacturing quality. TGB were originally transmission specialists manufacturing and designing for many international bike manufacturers such as Peugeot and Piaggio. The high manufacturing standard needed for their customer base gave them the experience and knowledge to produce their own performance based scooters for the global market, while maintaining competitive prices. Their most well known model is the ‘indestructible’ pizza delivery scooter we all see riding around, the Transcoot. These scooters are well priced considering their power output. If your looking for a robust scooter with great performance, more power and reliability, but don’t want to pay European prices, then the TGB is perfect. |
|
Peugeot have been making scooters since they started making cars, with all the quality you would expect from a luxury European car manufacturer. In France you are taxed on the cc size of the bike so Peugeot have engineered their scooters to have the maximum power for the size of the bike. Don’t be fooled by the cc size of these scooters, you have to ride one to experience how the whole package is put together. Handling, suspension, performance, braking all work together to make an effortless ride, with Peugeot styling and finishing touches. The Peugeot Speedfight is one of the best selling scooters in the UK, with great security options. These scooters are well priced for European quality. |

The result is an incredibly light machine, weighing just 95kg, which is substantially lighter than similar capacity motorcycles.
Reliable stopping power is delivered by a 260mm front hydraulic disc brake, backed up by a 215mm hydraulic unit at the rear. The beefy rear mono-shock absorber has hydraulic damping and adjustable pre-load, so suspension can be tailored to suit the rider. | ACCESSORIES - City Scooter - Sydney, NSW - Sales, Scooters, Motocycles, Accessories, Service, Sachs, TGB, Peugeot |
Cityscooter carries a good range of motorcycle accessories. Our customer base includes many motorcyclists who prefer to shop with us due to the personal attention they receive.
Although we don’t carry every stock item from every supplier we have accounts with just about everybody and keep up to date catalogues for customers to view. We are happy to order things in for customers to try on or order-in any items we don’t carry.
Most of the links in this section are to all the yummy brands netsites. Just remember the Australian distributors don’t carry all the overseas items. If there is anything you are interested in shoot us an email and we will check if suppliers have stock. It is possible to do special orders for items not sold in Australia but you must pay 100% up front with no returns and they may take up to 3-6 months to get here.
Either way if it’s out there we will try and find it for you.
HELMETS
There are a vast number of helmets on the market. We carry a select range of helmets developed over the years to include most people’s needs. We have accounts with all the major suppliers and can order in any helmet we don’t stock.
THH | M2R | ZUESS | RJAYS | NOLAN | SHOEI
JACKETS
We carry a great range from the best Dainese Leather and Troy Lee Fashion leather to Dryrider textile and Rjays wet weather gear. If you want to browse at all the fantastic stuff these guys make, visit their international websites. Contact us and we’ll be able to tell you if the distributor imports the item you want.
DAINESE | SPIDI | ALPINESTARS | DRYRIDER | RJAYS | TROY LEE DESIGNS
GLOVES
Our glove range is simple to reflect the needs of scooter riders and focus on the less bulky motorcycle gloves. We can order just about anything if for you, or feel free to come in a browse through all the catalogues if we don’t have what you want.
FOX | TROY LEE DESIGNS | RJAYS | ALPINESTARS
EYE WEAR
Cityscooter carry funky fashion eyewear as well as specifically designed motorcycle sunnies. Wiley X is the top of the range and can be ordered to fit your prescription.
MOTORCYCLE EYEWEAR AND GOGGLES
WILEY X – U.S.A.
The best out of the states, as worn by U.S. troops in Desert storm, and scary Harley riders in Phoenix. Wiley X sunnies are classified as protective safety eyewear. They are high quality sunglasses specifically designed for durability and functionality as needed in any outdoor extreme activity. The lenses are nearly indestructible and made to withstand flying gravel, stray bits of debris, wind, and dust.
Selected styles come with a gasket to prevent stuff flying up and under your lenses, interchangeable lenses, optional straps for under your helmet, and can be order to prescription.
FASHION EYEWEAR
Mooks / Le spec / baby doll
All the funky styles from fluro to retro for those day club ‘sunny off’ moments.
BLINDE
Classy, quality classic fashion sunnies.
BIKE ACCESSORIES
Autoglym cleaning products
This is the best stuff we’ve found for keeping your machine like new. We carry the full range of products.
Motul Scooter Oil
These are specifically engineered to suit scooter engines, with special blends for 2 and 4 strokes. This is the oil of choice for our mechanics so we sell it in the shop.
Scooter Covers
Protect your asset. You wouldn’t leave your mountain bike in the rain, so don’t leave your scooter out there. If you don’t have a garage get a cover, they’re only $50 and they’re worth every cent.
Kryptonite locks
We carry the standard size that will fit through your wheel and under your seat, but can order any of the Kryptonite locks you want.
You can have all the fancy alarms and immobilisers but we’ve found that in the end you’ll cut down on the risk more with a lock through your wheel. Many of the scooters stolen are pushed round the corner and they try to start them up, if they can’t push it out of sight to have a go, or throw it in the back of the ute they can’t be bothered. (‘they’ being the robbers that have run out of bus money)
GIVI top boxes
We like these top boxes the best, the quality is good and you take them off (if you have the key) with just a push of the button if you want to ditch the storage for the day, which is a nice feature. Some of the boxes can also be wired up to include a brake light for extra safety.

| GREEN SCOOTERS - City Scooter - Sydney, NSW - Sales, Scooters, Motocycles, Accessories, Service, Sachs, TGB, Peugeot |
SQUEAKY GREEN SCOOTERS CARBON NEUTRAL
Cityscooter is a carbon neutral workplace, and now every scooter we sell will be carbon neutral
Transport accounts for 13.5% of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.
For every litre of fuel used in your scooter, approximately 22.5 kilos of carbon dioxide co2) is released from your exhaust.
By purchasing a scooter over a car you have already made a greener choice, by using a motor vehicle that emits only 1/10 of the average car emissions, and 1/3 of hybrid car emissions.
Cityscooter has taken this further to make your purchase not just clean, but ‘squeaky’ clean, covering your emissions for a year with a carbon credit.
Our calculations or assumptions are based on a daily rider’s average usage of 7 litres/week, over a 12 month period. This equates to 364 litres/year or 910kg of CO2 emissions.
Each carbon credit guarantees to reduce pollution by 1 tonne, by using funds from the purchase to invest directly into pollution reduction programs. These programs receive a carbon credit for every tonne of CO2 saved from the environment.
Your Cityscooter scooter comes with a carbon credit, thereby deeming it CARBON NEUTRAL – yeah!!!!
SCOOTERS ARE A GREENER CHOICE
A new traffic model released in February showed that bustling and crowded NYC could cut fuel consumption, save considerable amounts of time normally spent stuck in traffic and slash carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions significantly by getting more scooters on the streets. These results come directly in the wake of growing concern over traffic congestion in America’s largest city.
This traffic model focused on a specific section of midtown Manhattan. By using a detailed simulation that incorporated scooters into the traffic mix. The model uncovered some interesting results. If the vehicle mix in city changed to 80 percent cars/20 percent scooters these would be the annual results:
-A total decrease in delay of more than 4.6 million hours per year –which translates to time savings of nearly 100 working hours per person
-A reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by over 26,000 tons (52,000,000-pounds) per year (need to convert to metric
-A decrease in fuel consumption by over 2.5 million gallons per year
-A total savings for New York City of more than $122 million per year in fuel and labour productivity
According to Sam Schwartz of PLLC, these results are even a bit conservative as they didn’t take into account that two scooters can ride side by side or pass each other within a single lane. Paolo Timoni, the President and CEO of Piaggio Group America, who sponsored this study, said “throughout the world, scooters are recognized as a smart transportation alternative, and this traffic simulation underscores the tangible impact that two-wheel vehicles can have on a major urban area like New York City,”.

| Q and A - City Scooter - Sydney, NSW - Sales, Scooters, Motocycles, Accessories, Service, Sachs, TGB, Peugeot |
Questions we get asked all the time:
GETTING YOUR LICENSE
MOTORCYCLE PARKING
CORPORATE PROMOTIONS & FUND RAISERS
PAYMENT OPTIONS
LAYBYS
SPECIAL ORDERS
DELIVERIES & REGIONAL SALES
ON ROAD COSTS
REGISTRATION
GETTING YOUR LICENSE
YES. In NSW you must have a motorcycle license to ride a scooter.
In QLD, WA, and S.A, you can ride the small 50cc’s with just a car driving license, but in NSW you must complete the Learner Rider Course and get your motorcycle license.
If you only intend to ride an automatic scooter, you can get an AUTOMATIC motorcycle license (restricted), rather than a manual motorcycle license (unrestricted)
Step One – Book in for the Learner Rider Course
PHONE RTA 13 22 13 to book and pay for the course which is about $69
The RTA provide a scooter/motorbike and helmet for the course. You will be taught how to ride a motorcycle from the ground up and given invaluable safety tips and riding strategies..
When you book-in, tell them if you want to do the course on an AUTOMATIC SCOOTER, or a manual motorcycle.
The course is run at various rider training centres around Sydney and is held over two consequetive days for 3.5 hours a day.
Lead times vary between centres, so if you can't get in when you want, ask about other centres maybe further from home.
On completing the course you will receive a Rider Competency Certificate.
Step Two - Book in for a Learner Rider Knowledge Test
Phone the RTA to make a booking for the test, which is a multiple choice computer test at your local R.T.A. Most of the questions are covered in your course and relate to motor cycle riding. There are also some general road rule questions.
You can read through the test questions in the motorcycle rider's handbook on the RTA net site, www.rta.nsw.gov.au. Go to the general license section: knowledge practice test: and select 'rider knowledge test'.
Pass and you've got your L's. You can then start riding.
Step Three - Getting your P's
After a minimum of 3 month and before 6 months you do the Motorcycle Operator Skills Test (M.O.S.T), and receive your P's, which you hold for 12 months before you are automatically eligible for your full license.
Riders of automatic motorcycles under 125ml do not have to do the Provisional rider license course, although we recommend you do as it really is good. If you are over 30 and hold a gold license, then you automatically go to a full license once you’ve passed the M.O.S.T. and can by-pass the 12month provisional license period.
MOTORCYCLE PARKING
There is a bit of confusion about parking rules for scooters.
To put it simply the same rules apply for motorcycles as they do for cars, which is ridiculous. Most council’s turn a blind eye if you don’t have a ticket, because bikes can’t put the ticket anywhere. If you do get booked, write to the council. Usually if you share a legal area with a car its sweet.
The motorbikes you see tucked into little alcoves in the city can’t be booked because they are within the ‘footprint’ of the building, meaning they’re on private property and not on the council pavement, therefore cannot be booked.
We expect that it will become easier for us scooter and motorcycle riders as council is keen to cut down on cars in the CBD.
It would be sooo great if Sydney could adopt the same motorcycle parking rules as Melbourne, London and most of the world, by allowing us to park on footpaths out of the way!!!!!!
CORPORATE PROMOTIONS & FUND RAISERS
Cityscooter has provided many scooters for fund raising events and corporate promotions.
If you’re running a promotion why not put up a scooter for the prize. We will organise to drop the scooter off for display during the promotion and send any artwork and pictures you need for your promotional material.
All our corporate customers have been thrilled by the response received with a scooter giveaway promotion, and charity organisations are always blown away by the money a scooter raffle or auction can raise.
